• Use of the tester

PDT-4 tester controls electromagnetic and piezoelectric Unit Injectors used in diesel engines.

It enables simultaneous testing of up to 4 units (if cams are spaced every 90 degrees).

Control signal produced by device matches original control signal from Engine Control Unit.

• Features

After power up the tester splash screen appears for 3 seconds,



Then, the user is given to choose between piezoelectric ('Piezoelect.') or electromagnetic ('Electromag.') Unit Injectors.



After setting desired Unit Injector type, the device displays control screen. This screen is the same for both Unit Injectors types.



Change of injection delay
"Delay" parameter (in degrees) specifies the delay between Hall sensor signal and firing of the tested Unit Injector. This parameter enables correction of Hall sensor signal to adjust firing time. If more than one unit is tested at the time, the control signal for each Unit Injector is delayed by fixed value. The "Delay" value can be set between 0 (no delay) and 10 degrees every 1 or 0.1 degree.



Change of simulated injection time
'Time' value represents simulated time of injection. Setting range is from 0.1 ms up to 5 ms every 1 or 0.1 ms.



Programming number of sequences
'Quantity' parameter determines number of injection sequences to execute. A sequence of injections is meant to be four injections, one for each injector. The tester always performs the total number of the injection sequences. Setting range of 'Number' parameter is between 0 and 9999. Changes can be performed every 10 or 100.



Simulation of initial injection
Changing 'Initial' parameter enables or disables simulation of initial injection. If 'Initial' is set to 'yes', an initial injection is performed before every injection. Initial injection parameters are fixed: - initial injection time: 0.2 ms
- time between initial and main injection: 1 ms.
